Cookie & Analytics Notice
Last updated: 3 June 2026
We set no tracking cookies and use no third-party advertising or analytics cookies. Our analytics are cookieless, and the only browser storage we use keeps the site working (your language choice, etc.).
1. Cookies
recitations.org does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our self-hosted analytics (Umami) is designed to work without cookies.
2. Functional browser storage (localStorage)
To make the site usable, a few small values are stored in your browser’s local storage. These never leave your device and are not used to track you:
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
ganesa-lang | Remembers your chosen interface language. |
vedic-onboarding | Remembers that you have seen the first-time introduction. |
| OM / Sa calibration value | Remembers your reference pitch calibration for practice. |
mic-consent | Remembers that you accepted the microphone explanation, so it is not shown every time. |
rct-optout | Records that you opted out of analytics. |
rct-notice-ack | Records that you dismissed the analytics notice banner. |
You can clear these at any time through your browser’s “clear site data” function.
3. Analytics
We use self-hosted Umami to collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics. It is cookieless, collects no personally identifying information, and is described in detail in our Privacy Policy (section 3).
4. How to opt out
- Notice banner: on your first visit, choose Opt out. This sets
rct-optoutand analytics stop immediately. - Do Not Track: if your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, we send no analytics events at all — no action needed.
5. Third parties
The site loads its fonts from our own server, so simply visiting recitations.org does not send your IP address to Google Fonts, jsDelivr, or any other external network.
