Terms of Use

Last updated: 3 June 2026

recitations.org is a free, non-commercial, educational tool for learning the recitation of Vedic mantras. By using it, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

The site helps you study and practise mantra pronunciation and pitch (svara) using audio examples and real-time, in-browser pitch feedback. It is provided for educational and personal devotional study.

2. Not a substitute for a teacher or for medical advice

The content is educational. It is not a religious initiation (dīkṣā), does not replace a qualified teacher (guru), and is not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. Please see our Religious & Cultural Statement.

3. Acceptable use

4. Intellectual property

The mantra texts are ancient and in the public domain. The audio recordings and other original material are licensed as described in the Copyright & Licensing notice (audio under CC BY-SA 4.0). Software libraries and fonts retain their own licences.

5. No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Pitch feedback is an approximation and may not always be correct.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

7. Future features

The site is currently free with no paid features. If optional donations or paid features are introduced in the future, they may carry additional or separate terms, which will be presented at that time.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the “Last updated” date reflects the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of Montenegro, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
